Short Census - Classical Rhetoric in the Middle Ages: The Medieval Rhetors and Their Art 400–1300, with Manuscript Survey to 1500 CE
Datasets usually provide raw data for analysis. This raw data often comes in spreadsheet form, but can be any collection of data, on which analysis can be performed.
The documents in this Short Census (on-line) are a list of medieval manuscripts around the world that contain evidence to show that medieval scholars knew and used the De inventione of Cicero and the Anonymous Rhetorica ad Herennium. These manuscripts also in many cases actually contain those two texts, or one of them. There is an introduction also that discusses this sort of evidence.
