<p dir="ltr"><b>Audio 1. </b>Sampling of 5-s sequences of hatching calls recorded from ready-to-hatch eggs (belonging to the laboratory's recording library). The original sequences played back during experiments lasted 1 min (between 2 and 3 calls per second; mean call duration=0.28±0.06 s; mean duration of silences between calls=0.20±0.11 s).</p>
